Repeated acts especially the ones that involve abuse of power is a sign of bullying. And those bullies are like targeting those who are inferior to them. They are looking for weak points towards their targets. There are actually different kinds of bullying.
- Verbal
- Physical and;
- Emotional
If you yourself believe that you are a victim of bullying, then being able to know how to stay hard and firm against these bullies is a very important. For so many times, it’s been proven that bullies are doing such act for it fills up their resentment, envy and the need for control. Quite simply, it makes them feel so empowered. Believe it or not, they may be using this as a tool for hiding their shame and anxiety – all at the expense of others.
You don’t necessarily have to submit to their actions. There are course of actions that you can do to fight back without actually doing what they’re doing.
Stopping Bullying in a Subtle Way
One way that you can do this is by showing them your confidence. Doing otherwise will show that you are weak and vulnerable. Remember, these are the traits that bullies love to target. At the same time, if you know that the person is a bully, then do yourself a favor by avoiding communication and eye contact with them.
It will never benefit you to keeping in touch with people who pushes you down. Rather, it will only make your relationship become worse. And if you insisted to be with their circle, mean every word you say. Do not make any bluffs. At the end, if you can’t keep up, it’s you who would lose.
Also take into account that showing your emotions when they’re bullying you would only fuel their ego and desire to keep on doing what they are doing.
Silence Yourself
Whenever bullies are around you are picking on you again, just ignore them. Do not answer back as much as you can. Stay quiet. If you can’t hold your peace, avoid saying things that would make you a laughing stock. This will make you the center of attention when they’re around. And this is what you don’t want to happen.
In such situation, call your friends to help you. Let them know how and what you are feeling. This way, the next time bullies try to pick again on you, your friends can back you up and protect you.
